Oji Papéis: how Stratws sped up indicators and strategic meetings

Before Stratws, Oji Papéis depended on an outdated system limited to monthly indicators. Today, the company tracks indicators with different frequencies, from daily to semiannual, and runs entire strategic meetings straight from the system.

Operating out of Piracicaba, in the state of São Paulo, Brazil, Oji Papéis Especiais is part of the Japanese group Oji Holdings Corporation, present across four continents. The plant, the group’s first investment in the paper sector in Brazil, produces thermal and carbonless papers for the Brazilian and Latin American markets.

What challenges did Oji Papéis face before Stratws?

Oji Papéis needed to sustain high management performance, with strategic guidelines cascaded down to every relevant level of the company. It also needed to ensure compliance with quality, environmental, and health and safety standards. For that, it needed software capable of tracking those processes and indicators.

The old system was outdated and very limited in formulas. We couldn't get the calculations we needed for our indicators. If we needed a variable indicator, it only offered the monthly option. And sometimes we worked with quarterly, semiannual, and daily indicators, and we didn't have that possibility. Now, with Stratws, that became possible.

Before, to track how actions were progressing, Oji Papéis had to go area by area checking on pending items. With Stratws, that tracking became direct, with every area and every pending item visible in one place.

The change also reached the company’s strategic meetings, strategic planning, and strategic committee.

Before, people had to prepare a PowerPoint presentation, select indicators, print out indicators. Now we run the meeting straight from Stratws. You open the system and it already shows every indicator. All of that got more agile, with less time spent on the meeting and on building the presentation.
